Board of Directors

KEEN Los Angeles is a volunteer-run, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. KEEN Los Angeles is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of parents, volunteers, business people and community leaders. The board directs KEEN’s operations, charts its direction, spearheads fundraising events, and ensures that KEEN stays focused on its core mission. KEEN Los Angeles is an LLC, and, together with its sister affiliates, falls under the umbrella of KEEN USA. Jonathan Chiquito, President of KEEN Los Angeles sits on the board of KEEN USA.

Jonathan Chiquito, President

Jonathan Chiquito is passionate about doing his part to help repair the world. He was President of Circle K International (a community service organization) in college and came across KEEN LA during one of his community service engagements. He loves KEEN LA and everything that it embodies. He has been Treasurer of KEEN LA since 2015.

He is currently a Senior Analyst in Investor Relations at AECOM. Previously, he was a Financial Analyst with Wells Fargo. He received his B.A. in Applied Economics and B.S. in Finance from California State University Los Angeles. He enjoys staying active (hiking, playing soccer, basketball, baseball etc.) and reading.

Ravi Gadam, Treasurer

Ravi Gadam is a Finance Controller at Curtiss-Wright Controls in Santa Clarita.  His career started as a finance analyst at Orbital ATK in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He was transferred to Los Angeles 9 years ago to be a finance manager at Orbital ATK. During his career, he focused on cost control and managing the revenue and profit forecasting for the different divisions.  Ravi became involved in KEEN Los Angeles 5 years ago after volunteering through LA Works. After volunteering for a couple sessions, Ravi decided to join the KEEN Los Angeles Board, as the the treasurer.  After 3 years, Ravi was nominated to become the board president.  Ravi is from Michigan, and currently resides in West Los Angeles.

Carolyn Johnstone
  Cartoon Network

Carolyn Johnstone has served on the KEEN LA Board of Directors since 2010. She first joined the organization after volunteering for “Bowl with Keen LA” through Turner/Cartoon Network Studios. KEEN is near and dear to Carolyn’s heart because her nephew, Findlay, had Cerebral Palsy and was severely disabled. Carolyn saw firsthand the benefits of programs like this. Understanding the importance and impact of this program, when asked by the Executive Director to join the Board, she gladly accepted the invitation in Findlay’s honor.

Originally from Virginia, Carolyn moved to Southern California in 2002. She currently lives in Burbank with her husband and son. When not working Carolyn enjoys movies, reading and spending time with her family and friends, enjoying all that LA has to offer.
Zulma Mena
  KEEN Parent
Zulma Mena has been involved with KEEN LA since 2004.  At that time her son, Freddy, was four years old and was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. This diagnoses prompted her search for a free program that offered a recreational and socializing environment. KEEN LA has benefited Freddy so much that it became part of the families’ routine to be there every session.  Zulma facilitates a Spanish Speaking support group for families with children with Autism at Lanterman’s Regional Center. Her group provides guidance and resources and helps families cope with having a child on the spectrum.  Zulma feels that having a child with special needs has given her so much knowledge and for this, she feels compelled to support others going through similar challenges.
