KEEN Los Angeles Program Coordinator

At KEEN Los Angeles, we strive to support our local population of youth with disabilities and their families by providing free sports and recreation programs to otherwise isolated and sedentary youth.  Furthermore, we provide support and resources to their parents and caretakers all in service of empowering this population to be their best selves.

Established in 2006, KEEN Los Angeles has and continues to grow by leaps and bounds. But we’ve gone as far as we can without expanding our dedicated staff.

And that’s where you come in.

We’re seeking a Program Coordinator to be the eyes and ears for our Executive Director. This part-time position is responsible for running our programs, taking attendance, maintaining our database, adding effort and creativity to new projects, and be an all-around Jack-or-Jill of all trades.


  • Maintain accurate and updated records and database of Coaches and Athletes
  • Respond to inquiries from parents, volunteer coaches and local community groups
  • Outreach to local programs and parent groups to invite youth Athletes to participate
  • Recruit volunteer coaches for program sessions and to serve on Coaches Committee
  • Foster positive relationships with other organizations working with disabled young people
  • Attend and lead all weekend programs including program prep and program follow up
  • Empower volunteer leaders to take charge and run the programs on site
  • Handle all behind-the-scenes management aspects of the programs
  • Support Executive Director with Annual Benefit as needed
  • Work closely with the KEEN Los Angeles Executive Director to maintain highest standards of safety and fun during KEEN events


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel, Google documents and database management
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently with off-site supervision
  • Self-driven but also able to work within a team
  • Experience working with nonprofits
  • Working with children with disabilities a plus
  • Strong interest in working with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to lead by motivating others
  • Demonstrated reliability
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work a mix of weekends and weekdays
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a must
