Requirements for Parents
In order that all the program sessions go as smoothly as possible, both for KEEN athletes and coaches, parents should comply with the following basic rules:
BEFORE THE SESSION:  Please make sure, your child is dressed appropriately. Generally, this should mean comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and athletic shoes.  Skirts and dresses are not advisable, as there will often be a certain amount of rolling or running activities.
ARRIVING AT THE SESSION:  We ask that a first time athlete arrive by 10:30 AM and returning athletes arrive by 10:40 AM, it allows time to check in and have a short transitional adjustment period as well.  Parent needs to check in with the registration desk - sign in, obtain the name tag for your child and let us know by marking on the sign-in sheet which session/sessions your child will be attending for the next two months.  Please stay with the athlete until she/he is greeted by the assigned coach at the designated starting time.  If you arrive late, it can cause difficulties in the pairing up and delay the start of the session, which is unfair to the other athletes.
DURING THE SESSION:  The athlete profile is a very valuable tool for each coach, providing useful information about the athlete’s individual needs.  All information on the athlete profile is based on the Registration Form you completed.  Please make sure the form is always up-to-date and keep us aware of any changes and news.  All parents are welcome to observe our program in progress; however to maximize one-on-one coaching, we ask that KEEN parents and siblings stay out of the athlete activity areas, and out of the line of sight of the athletes.
AT THE END OF THE SESSION:  Please make sure that your athlete is collected promptly at the end of each session - it is a good idea to arrive a few minutes before the end as delays can be upsetting to the athlete.  Be sure to thank the coaches and find out how the session went.  Each athlete must be signed-out by his/her parent/guardian/caregiver before leaving the program site.
AFTER THE SESSION:  We are always happy to hear any feedback you have on the activities and the program, whether good or bad. Please feel free to call KEEN's office.  If your athlete has enjoyed something in particular, we will want to incorporate that activity again and if there is a problem then we can set about solving it.
WHAT IF THE ATHLETE CANNOT COME:  In order for us to reach one-to-one coach and athlete ratio, it is important for us to know the exact number of athletes attending each program session.  We ask KEEN parents and guardians to let us know as early as possible whether your child will join us on the scheduled dates.  You can always reach us by emailing info@keenlosangeles.org or by calling 213-892-2935 during the week and 213-448-9253 on the scheduled program weekend, even if your call is at the very beginning of the session.  Due to the long waiting list we have for athletes who want to attend KEEN program, athletes who consistently miss their KEEN sessions will be dropped from the program.
