Evelyn Santiago

Evelyn Santiago has always had a propensity for working with children and families. She studied Elementary Education, Social Service, and Anthropology and Sociology at Knox College in Illinois. Evelyn focused her studies on special education and expanded her interests in the nonprofit setting. She taught special education on a preschool level and worked with children and adults with special needs. During her spare time she volunteered in the community from tutoring children to working with elderly residents. As an Echo Park native, Evelyn knows first-hand the need of a program like KEEN in her community. Upon returning from school, Evelyn joined our KEEN Los Angeles team as a Program Development Intern for over a year before officially joining the team as Program Coordinator. She's thrilled to have the opportunity to combine all her interests and passions in an organization like KEEN. Evelyn is also the Program and Operations Coordinator of Friends of St. Lawrence-Watts Youth Center, a small non-profit serving the Watts community in South Los Angeles. She continues to pursue her interests, serving underrepresented students and families both within and outside her community.
